Lisa Kern was named manager of member engagement in 2019 to support The Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and the Commission on Accrediting by leading creative efforts to engage, inform, and support member schools. She joined the staff in 2003 as communications coordinator to support communication about the programs and services offered to the ATS membership. She writes, copyedits, and desktop publishes articles for the Association's online newsletter, handles social media outreach, produces published materials for events, manages content on the ATS website, and she now oversees the Association's new online community, Engage ATS, as well. In addition, she strategizes with fellow staff in their efforts to share resources and effectively reach their audiences, and in organizing opportunities to connect member schools with the Association and with one another.
Kern previously worked as a staffing manager for The Creative Group and OfficeTeam divisions of Robert Half International, and as the marketing and public relations coordinator for the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. She earned a BA in journalism/mass communication with minors in marketing and theater from St. Bonaventure University.
