The hybrid Communicating during a Crisis event in May 2021 kicked off the creation of an ATS administrator group for communications, marketing, and engagement professionals. Casual roundtable discussion webinars are regularly held for those in this area of work to meet one another, ask questions, and share tips, ideas, and resources.
If you haven’t already, please visit Engage ATS—an online community for those who serve ATS schools—and join the “Communications Personnel” community. We'd like to know what's been working for you, what could be working better for you, and how we can enhance your work or help you become more efficient with your tasks/projects.
We are excited about the 2025 DIAP Conference and we want you to be part of it! What have you been learning lately? What new strategies or processes have you been developing? What questions do you have or what discoveries have you made that you’d like to discuss with the group? Do you have a case study that you’d like to present to a group of your peers for discussion? The DIAP Steering Committee invites you to submit a workshop or roundtable proposal for a session focused on any aspect of this year’s conference theme, Moving Forward in Joy: The Ministry of Fundraising and Communications in a Digital Age, by Thursday, November 7, 2024.
Here are several organizations and products ATS communication officers have found useful:
Marissa Dechant serves as the communications coordinator for The Association of Theological Schools. Her work includes producing in-house publications, including Colloquy Online, managing ATS website content and social media, and implementing the Association’s communications and engagement plan. She joined the staff in 2018 as executive assistant.
Before coming to ATS, she worked as a staff writer for The Derrick and The News-Herald in Oil City, Pennsylvania, covering the City of Franklin, crime and courts, and religion beats. Dechant is a graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a communications major, a concentration in journalism, and a minor in creative writing.
