Project Title:Diversity, Health, and Social Justice in Community-Based Ministry: Oakwood University's Strategy for Cultivating 21st Century Pastoral Leaders
Project Description:Our project's strategy centers on the interrelated themes of diversity, health, and social justice, and we envision advancing progress in these areas through two key activities: (1) expansion of formal graduate studies programming at Oakwood (e.g., Master of Divinity program) with specialized concentrations that are of high relevance to emerging pastoral leaders and (2) design and launch of an innovative and robust field education program that will provide students with intensive mentoring in both traditional (e.g., church congregation) and nontraditional (e.g., community-based organization and social service agency) settings.
