Carol Taylor is the fourth president of Evangel University. She served as the ninth president of Vanguard University from 2009 to 2013, and prior to that she was provost/vice president of academic affairs at Vanguard. Taylor also served for seven years as the vice provost for undergraduate education at Biola University and spent 12 years in executive management and research at Educational Testing Service in Princeton, New Jersey. She has taught in public education and at several state universities and has lectured internationally. She received the Orange County Business Journal Women in Business Award in 2011, and she was recognized as one of top 20 professional women to watch in Orange County. In addition, she was recognized by the Springfield Business Journal as one of the “Most Influential Women in Springfield, Missouri.” Taylor has served as a reviewer with the western regional accrediting association and in various roles with the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities for its study abroad programs and leadership development institutes. She serves on various boards and community groups in Springfield, and she is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. An alumna of both Evangel University and the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Taylor also holds a doctorate from Florida State University.
